Scared. Genuinely scared of the step I've just taken.

Alhamdulillah, my next chapter begins at EY Bangladesh - Islam Hoque Hanif & Co., the EY member firm in Bangladesh; as an Audit Associate (Articled Student). Starting this September, I'll spend the next three years learning the discipline of auditing from the ground up.

From bKash to EY

Before this, I spent my bnext internship at bKash's AML & CFT department, monitoring transactions, running KYC quality checks, and automating compliance reporting with VBA and Power BI. That work taught me how much rigor sits behind every number a financial institution reports - and it's a big part of why audit felt like the natural next step in my Chartered Accountancy journey at ICAB.

What's Next

Articleship is where the real training happens: client engagements, working papers, deadlines that don't move, and partners who've seen it all before. I'm going in as a student, not an expert - ready to be corrected, to ask the basic questions, and to build the foundation everything else in this profession stands on.

Why I'm Sharing This

I've documented my finance journey publicly since university - the competitions, the internships, the wins and the near-misses - because writing it down keeps me honest about the arc, not just the highlight reel. This is the next entry.
